A redesign for usability

CLIENT: California Tortilla

With an overload of information and unnecessary features, the California Tortilla mobile app is difficult to navigate.

I conducted user research to identify pain points and redesign key screens to alleviate frustration and improve the user experience.

California Tortilla is known as a fun & energetic company

The new loading screen is much more welcoming than the previous screen of a generic gray spinning wheel.

The new welcome screen is much more inviting and personalized to the user

There is a new main navigation and several different ways of getting from page to page to make using the app easier. The buttons are bigger and easier to differentiate.

The new check-in screen is less cluttered and there is a new receipt feature

Before, your code was very small hidden among advertisements and buttons. Now, you can easily give the code, or have the option to scan your phone and have your receipt sent to your registered email address.

The completely reorganized ordering process is streamlined with clear affordances & signifiers

The menu items are displayed better, you can now add items to your favorites, there are new food icons, and your order information is more accessible.
